Grewal Attorney Matt Heos's Radio Blog Topic of the Week: Water

Grewal Law PLLC

East Lansing and Meridian Township faced a water-boil crisis Friday thru Sunday afternoon. The people of those municipalities felt similar to the predicament just down the road in Flint, Michigan. Water is the great common denominator. The majority of a human’s body is comprised of water to underscore its importance.

As the great Bruce Lee once said: “You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”

Clean water is the gift of life. If it turns putrid, life suffers and must adapt or die. In Aleppo, Syria, a town with a population of over 2 million people before the war began; water was recently used as a weapon of war against the population and the supply was interrupted by warring factions for over 3 months. “Getting clean water flowing again for the people of Aleppo is lifesaving” said Hanaa Singer, UNICEF Representative in Syria. “One million children rely on this facility for safe drinking water essential for preventing waterborne diseases which can be life-threatening and in extreme cases deadly for children.”

If you question the quality of your water supply, boil your water for 1 minute to remove impurities and allow cooling before consumption. Clean water; it’s essential for life.
