Cheyenne Benyi joined Grewal Law PLLC as an Associate Attorney after working with the Grewal team as a clerk throughout law school. Her practice primarily focuses on cannabis law, criminal defense, and general civil matters. Ms. Benyi is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and in the Western and Eastern District for the Federal Court of Michigan. She is the Team Leader for the Cannabis Division at Grewal Law.
Ms. Benyi graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology. Continuing the Sparty tradition, Ms. Benyi attended Michigan State University College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor.
As a practicing attorney, Ms. Benyi has gained invaluable experience as a member of the Michigan Bar Cannabis Law Section, the Criminal Law Section, the Litigation Section, and the Negligence Law Section. Ms. Benyi was elected and currently serves as a Council Member for the Cannabis Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. She also dedicates time to serving on a number of committees and is Co-Chair of the Cannabis Section Young Lawyers Committee. She was a speaker at the 2021 Cannabis Law Annual Conference where she discussed the consolidation and legislative reform of the MMFLA, MRTMA, and MMMA.
Cheyenne grew up in Pinckney, Michigan, a small town known for its chain of lakes. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, hiking, camping, and all-things outdoor. She also loves spending time with her family, including her adorable and favorite nephew, KJ.
