Cheyenne Benyi joined Grewal Law PLLC as an Associate Attorney after working with the Grewal team as a law clerk throughout law school. Her practice primarily focuses on cannabis law, criminal defense, and general civil matters.

Cheyenne earned her Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University with a double major in Criminal Justice and Anthropology. As a through and through Spartan, Cheyenne continued her education at Michigan State University College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor. During law school, Cheyenne gained a variety of experience in the legal field working at the Michigan State Senate, Legal Services of Eastern Michigan, and as a volunteer for the National Lawyers Guild on the Mass Incarceration Committee.

As a practicing attorney, Cheyenne has gained invaluable experience as a member of the Michigan Bar Cannabis Law Section, the Criminal Law Section, the Litigation Section, and the Negligence Law Section. She also dedicates time to serving on a number of committees including the Cannabis Section Young Lawyers Committee, the Cannabis Section Mentorship Program Committee, and the Cannabis Law Legislative Reform Committee. She was a speaker at the 2021 Cannabis Law Annual Conference where she discussed the consolidation and legislative reform of the MMFLA, MRTMA, and MMMA.

Cheyenne grew up in Pinckney, Michigan, a small town known for its chain of lakes. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, hiking, camping, and outdoor activities in general. She also loves spending time with her family, including her adorable and favorite nephew, KJ.
