Investigations Against Interlochen

The allegations against Interlochen stem from an independent investigation the school itself commissioned in 2024, after a former student came forward with a report of misconduct. That investigation ultimately expanded into a lengthy report describing what its authors called "devastating" findings, including reports of grooming, boundary violations, and abuse carried out by faculty, residential life staff, visiting artists, and board members over several decades. Among the individuals named was Jeffrey Epstein, a former camper and later a major donor to the school, whom two former students said engaged in inappropriate conduct with them.

Interlochen has stated that it has turned over the names of accused individuals to local authorities, that a majority of the allegations predate the year 2000, and that none of the individuals named are currently affiliated with the school.
