As lawyers currently representing more than 100 survivors in the Larry Nassar litigation, we are increasing our efforts in our request for assistance in obtaining evidence and information related to Dr. William Strampel, the former dean of MSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, conduct and MSU’s response or lack thereof.
Dr. Strampel served as the dean of MSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine from 2002 until December 2017. In addition, Dr. Strampel served as Larry Nassar’s boss for several years including in 2014 when Nassar was the subject of a criminal investigation.
Recently, according to court records, four women told investigators that while they were medical students at MSU, Dr. William Strampel, either sexually harassed or sexually assaulted them. The women said he made sexually inappropriate comments, groped them and appeared to offer them favorable treatment in exchange for sexual acts.
Moreover, investigators found pornographic videos and a video of Larry Nassar performing ‘treatment’ on a young female patient on Dr. Strampel’s work computer.
Due to the testimonies of these four women, it’s believed that MSU allowed Dr. Strampel to create a highly toxic work environment for students and faculty at MSU. If you have any information that you can share with us to help hold MSU accountable it would go a long way towards getting the justice that these women deserve.
We believe many people know the facts and circumstances surrounding Dr. William Strampel and what occurred at MSU. If you would like to informally talk, please reach out. Help these girls and women find justice.
An army of survivors has said “time’s up” to Larry Nassar, MSU, and enablers of sexual abuse. You’re not alone. Find out how we are helping survivors fight for justice and accountability.
