200,000 People Sign Petition to Pardon Our Client

Over 200,000 people have signed a petition to free our client from jail and pardon her charge of manslaughter.

In September 2018, our client shot and killed her husband after she was forced to endure abuse for several days. She was sentenced to between 20 months and 15 years in prison. However, our attorneys at Grewal Law argue that our client’s death was the result of self-defense. We also maintain that our client’s son was a target of the husband’s abuse.

Speaking to WLNS about the shooting, Attorney Kelly McClintock said:

“He had told her that if she didn’t take the gun and shoot him that he would kill their son, make her watch and then he would kill her and then he would wait for the cops to come and he would die by cop because he said he was a coward.”

Everyone here at Grewal Law would like to thank all of our client’s friends and family members who contributed to the clemency application. We would also like to thank the more than 200,000 people who signed the petition in support of freeing our client.

We await a decision from the Parole Board at the Michigan Department of Corrections regarding whether our client’s case will be investigated.
